Most support STV!
37% support STV, 26% support AV+
Of non-Labour, 62% support STV, 14% support AV+
A recent survey revealed preferences for the voting system for the British Parliament as:
Alternative Vote 16%
Alternative Vote Plus 26%
First Past The Post 20%
Single Transferable Vote 37%
Other 1%
75% wanted a referendum on the same day as the next general election and 25% did not.
AV+ came top among Labour supporters with 33%, STV came 2nd with 24% and FPTP was a close 3rd with 23%.
Among non-Labour supporters, the figures showed substantial support for STV:
Alternative Vote 10%
Alternative Vote Plus 14%
First Past The Post 14%
Single Transferable Vote 62%!

STV supporters should:
- *Emphasize to Labour the strong national, cross-party support for STV - stronger than Labour's 35.2% share of the vote at the last general election.
- *Continue to campaign for a citizens' assembly, not dominated by Labour or other politicians, to choose the new system to be put to a referendum.
- *Encourage non-Labour supporters (whose support Labour would presumably like) to lobby for STV.
